The City of Providence extends the warmest of welcomes to the International Microelectronics and Packaging Society on the occasion of your 41st Annual Symposium, taking place in our city from November 2-6, 2008. We are pleased and honored to host this important gathering by a world-renowned leader in microelectronics and electronics packaging.
With 240 exhibitors, over 200 technical presentations, valuable development courses and keynote presentations, the 41st Annual Symposium of IMAPS promises to be a signal event for all in our region who benefit from IMAPS’ tireless promotion of growth and excellence in the microelectronics and electronics packaging industries.
For those of you who may be visiting for the first time, please take time to explore our city. Cited in national publications such as Travel & Leisure and AmericanStyle magazines as one of the most resurgent urban environments in the nation, Providence is the center of the state’s business, financial, educational, cultural and medical communities. Theater, sporting events, fine restaurants, concerts, museums, and graceful river walks are all part of a memorable experience for the visitor.
I wish the membership, guests and supporters of the International Microelectronics and Packaging Society all the very best as you convene for your Symposium 2008. Please visit us again in the future. My best wishes to all.
Sincerely,

David N. Cicilline, Mayor |
